Process / Overview

Registration to host a 2019 Local Competition is now open! Follow the steps below in order to create your account, or if you already have an account, login and create your 2019 event! If you have any questions, please email us at

Create a Pitch Hit & Run host account here. A host account allows you to register as a host of a local competition and makes you eligible to create competitions online. With your host account, you can come back to the site, login and manage your competitions from start to finish.

After you create a host account, look for an email from Pitch Hit & Run and click “Confirm my email.” Once your email is confirmed, login to your account. You will be directed to your Host Dashboard. Click the “Create a Local Competition” button to enter all the information about your event. MLB will then review and approve your local competition.

Upon receipt of your online registration, Major League Baseball will place you on a list to receive a kit, which will include a handbook (thoroughly explaining how to run the competition), registration forms, awards, promotional posters, strike zone banner, etc.

Upon receiving your kit, review materials and make plans for your competition. Secure a handful of volunteers and promote competition through local outlets.

Before and after your competition, log back into your account and add/edit competitions, post news about your competitions, view registrations for your event, download materials, and submit results. Refer to your administrative handbook and online resources for guidance.

Once the competition is complete, log into your account and submit your results from your dashboard. Don’t forget to create a new competition for next year while you’re here!
